The unusual mammographic appearance of breasts augmented by autologous fatinjection

We report the case of a woman presenting to our centre with two breast lump s, 12 months after undergoing breast augmentation with autologous fat injec tion. Mammography showed a very unusual appearance, with most of the breast parenchyma displaced anteriorly by a large amount of fatty tissue. This wa s associated with extensive bizarre microcalcification, highlighting the di fficulty in mammographic evaluation of this rare type of breast augmentatio n, (C) 2000 Harcourt Publishers Ltd.
