Abstract
We document the presence of the largest known concentration of Yellow Rails (Coturnicops noveboracencis) east of Quebec, in the Grand Lake Meadows of central New Brunswick. Rails were surveyed between 1991-1997 and indicated the area supported a minimum of 2-24. Fluctuating water levels appear to de termine abundance and suggest that breeding is unlikely, at least in most y ears. The Grand Lake Meadows may be a significant post-breeding staging are a for this species.
