The first heptamethylcycloheptatrienyl (CHT*) complexes [(eta(5)-C7Me7)W(CO )(3)(NCR)][BF4] (R = Me, Et) and [(eta(5)-C7Me7)W(CO)(3)I] have been prepar ed from [(C7Me7)BF4].
