Abstract
Intraparenchymal location of schwannomas in the central nervous system (CNS) is rare. Occasional cases involving the cerebrum, cerebellum, b rain stem, and spinal cord have been reported. We report here an addit ional case of thoracic intramedullary schwannoma in a 42 year old woma n. The literature concerning intraparenchymal schwannomas in the CNS i s reviewed and discussed.
