Abstract
A method for expanding the q-deformed su(q)(3) states into a classical so(3) basis has been developed. This expansion is used to compute the matrix elements of classical irreducible tensor operators between q-d eformed states. Examples of scalar products between deformed and class ical basis states and some of their properties are discussed.
