Assessment, choice and utilisation of selvedge in non-classical weaving

Usually in non-classical weaving an additional false selvedge is manufactur ed, being a weaving waste which yields 4-8% of surface mass of the woven fa bric. Basing on theoretical considerations several material saving procedur es were elaborated such as application of weft feeding devices, unroving of leno edge or weaving without false selvedge. The methods of selection of n on-conventional supplementary selvedge enable effective selvedge reuse and manufacturing of new cords, different fabrics, composites, and nonwovens.
