Abstract
We analyzed the impact on outcome of minimal residual disease (MRD) and cli nical factors in 97 children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Unfavorable factors were early-B and -T immunophenotype, hyperleukocytosis, non-respon se to steroids, detection of MRD at the end of induction therapy. A level o f MRD greater than or equal to 1/10(3) leads to a lower probability of dise ase-free survival.
