Abstract
This paper describes a new approach for establishing power systems schedule d generators outages for maintenance purposes. The time frame considered re fers to power systems short-term operations planning horizon (i,e, one mont h ahead), The paper main contribution is focused on modeling grid operation al constraints, which are dealt with by a DC optimal power flow. The result ing large-scale optimization problem is solved by mixed-integer programming techniques aided by Benders decomposition strategy. The obtained results c learly show that representing transmission Influence is essential for the e stablishment of a sound set of scheduled outages for the system's generator s, specially in the case of hydrothermal systems.
