Abstract
Since the discover of interleukin 8 (IL-8), about 50 chemokines have been c haracterized. Originally, they were considered as inducible mediators of in flammation, but in recent years, several chemokines have been identified th at are expressed constitutively and function in the physiological traffic a nd homing of leukocytes.
