The synthesis and X-ray characterization of a, novel chiral two-dimensional
condensed metal-organic coordination polymer, bis(S(-)-lactate)zinc(II) (1
), are reported. Its crystal structure determination shows that a chiral ca
vity with approximate dimensions of 5.4 X 5.4 Angstrom(2) is present. Cryst
