Abstract
The use of primary care services by three matched groups of people with int ellectual disabilities was compared over a period of one year. Differences in the patterns of provision were detected between hospital intellectual di sability specialists and general practitioners. The degree of behavioural d isturbance and disability of the subjects were found to be the most importa nt predictors of primary care contact.
