A sliding discharge excited SF6/propane-butane/N-2 laser emitting simu
ltaneously in the UV (337.1 nm; 357.7 nm) and in IR (2.6-3.2 mu m) spe
ctral ranges was investigated experimentally. Laser energies as high a
s 1.2 mJ in UV and 12 mJ in IR were measured. The waveforms of the vol
tage, current and laser (12 ns FWHM UV and 35 ns FWHM IR) purses were
obtained. The IR laser spectrum consisting of more than 20 separate li
nes was registered and analysed. A spectral and temporal IR-lines inte
nsity redistribution depending on the N-2 pressure was observed and ex
amined.
