Ym. Li et al., OPTIMIZED METHODS FOR CAPILLARY ELECTROPHORESIS OF TETRACYCLINES, Journal of pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis, 15(8), 1997, pp. 1063-1069
Optimized methods for the analysis of some tetracyclines by capillary
electrophoresis are described. Different buffer systems were employed
for the separation of tetracycline, oxytetracycline and demeclocycline
from their respective major impurities, including the 2-acetyl-2-deca
rboxamido derivatives. The influence of buffer pH and buffer concentra
tion was systematically investigated. Non-ionic surfactant Triton X-10
0 and methyl-beta-cyclodextrin were used to obtain improved selectivit
y in the case of oxytetracycline and demeclocycline. The results are c
ompared with those of previously established liquid chromatography met
hods. Good correlations were obtained. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
