Abstract
The essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation of the leaves and twigs of Tabletop Acacia, Acacia nuperrima ssp. cassitera (Mimosaceae) growing wild in north eastern Australia was investigated by GC/MS and FTIR. Two chemical forms yielding 0.6% and 0.3% on a dry weight basis were found to be rich i n kessane (88.8%) and alpha-pinene (16.2%), respectively.
