As a consequence of dramatic changes in the world market in nuclear service
s over the last decade, BNFL has embarked on a comprehensive strategic revi
ew of its business. Central to this review has been the need for the compan
y to achieve cost reduction and improved efficiency in all aspects of its b
usiness. An area where substantial benefits can be gained is in improved ef
ficiency in the discharge of the capital expenditure programme. This paper
focuses on the opportunity of profiting through partnering in capital proje
ct delivery.
