Abstract
The energy loss of Be-9, B-11, C-12, N-14, O-16, F-19 and N-20, ions at 1 M
eV per nucleon in C, Al, Ni, CH2 (polyethylene) and PVC (polyvynilchloride)
have been measured at the Louvain-la-Neuve cyclotron facility. Stopping po
wers are given relative to the one for 5.486 MeV He-4 ions with an uncertai
nty of at most 1%. Absolute stopping powers are also provided. We compare o
ur results with previous experimental data and with semi-empirical models.
