Abstract
The effects of energetic ions on barium strontium titanate (BST) single cry stals have been studied using low-energy He and high-energy Si ions. This i nvestigation indicates that energetic ions significantly change the ferroel ectric properties of BST single crystals. While He ion causes sharp increas e in dielectric constant, Curie temperature (T-c) and spontaneous polarizat ion (P-s), the Si ions cause slight change in T-c, dielectric constant and P-s.
