Abstract
An apparatus for Mossbauer spectroscopy has been developed with a cadmium t elluride (CdTe) gamma-ray detector. Complete data regarding gamma-ray energ y, source velocity, temperature and real time are stored for off-line analy sis. The apparatus has been used to study the spectrum of Te-125 in Mg3TeO6 at room temperature. The 35.5 keV transition of Te-125 in Mg3TeO6 was foun d to have a recoil-free fraction f = 0.392(5) corresponding to a Debye temp erature theta = 352(3) K. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
