Abstract
Tp'PtMe2H (I) reacts with Et3Si-H to form Tp'Pt(SiEt3)(H)(2) (2), which ser ves as a precursor to Tp'PtH3 (3). Cleavage of the Pt-SiEt3 bond of 2 with methanol provides a clean route to Tp'PtH3 (3), a rare N-supported monomeri c platinum(IV) trihydride complex.
