P. Tournois, ACOUSTOOPTIC PROGRAMMABLE DISPERSIVE FILTER FOR ADAPTIVE COMPENSATIONOF GROUP DELAY-TIME DISPERSION IN LASER SYSTEMS, Optics communications, 140(4-6), 1997, pp. 245-249
It is demonstrated in this communication that using an acousto-optic i
nteraction in an anisotropic birefringent medium it is possible to pro
duce a chirped optical signal reproducing an original acoustic signal.
This acoustic signal can then be used to generate a pre-distorted opt
ical signal at the input of a laser chain to compensate for group dela
y time dispersions within the chain. The first experiments achieved wi
th such a device are reported. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
