We consider the low binding energy part of ARPES of strongly correlated sys
tems. We map from realistic Anderson-lattice p-d Hamiltonian into spin-ferm
ion (Kondo-lattice) model and derive an analytical expression that relates
photoemission intensity from p states with the spin-polaron spectral densit
y in the spin-fermion model. The spin polaron problem is solved by a recent
ly developed technique that combines Mori-Zwanzig projection method with se
lf-consistent Born approximation. We show that photoemission intensity from
the bare p-states has different omega-dependence compared the spectral den
sity of effective fermions in Kondo-lattice. The difference leads to enhanc
ement of coherent part of the photoemission spectrum. (C) 2000 Elsevier Sci
