Abstract
In this paper, we report a study of the reverse proton exchange proces s in lithium tantalate based on the observation of the buried extraord inary index waveguide and the surface ordinary index waveguide. This a llows us to determine approximately all the parameters of these wavegu ides and in particular the ordinary index variation for all HxLi1-xTaO 3 phases. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
