An approach to spatial domain analysis of digital halftoning technique
s using the Voronoi tessellation of halftone dot patterns is described
. The first and second moments of the average distance among dots in a
n halftone pattern are used to analyze different halftoning techniques
. The experimental results verified that (i) error diffusion algorithm
s distribute dots that are further apart compared to order dither, and
(ii) different filters in error diffusion algorithms have performance
