Abstract
The kinetics of sorption of Ag(I) from aqueous solutions in a PbS thin film sorbent was studied by the X-ray fluorescence and atomic adsorption method s. The applicability of the Fick equation was demonstrated for the diffusio n from a constant-intensity source of Ag atoms, which was realized when the concentration of the solution was above 1 x 10(-3) mol/l. The diffusion co efficient for Ag(I) in the PbS him at room temperature was estimated at D = (1.9 +/- 0.15) x 10(-15) cm(2)/s.
