A case of meniscal ossicles occurring in the left knee of a 23-year-old wom
an is presented. Radiographs showed two calcified lesions at the posteromed
ial aspect of the knee which were interpreted as loose bodies. Sonography,
computed tomography arthrography and magnetic resonance imaging Showed the
fragments within the posterior horn of the medial meniscus permitting a dia
gnosis of meniscal ossicles. These techniques can detect meniscal ossicles
and exclude intra-articular loose bodies.
