Abstract
A secondary periodicity in variation of the properties of ferroelectric sol id solutions of lead titanate with rare-earth metals is established. It is demonstrated that this behavior is related both to the modifying cations be longing to two natural subgroups and to the energetic features of their 4f levels. The extrema of the structural and ferroelectric characteristics cor respond to the domains of electron instability. (C) 2000 MAIK "Nauka/Interp eriodica".
