Suggested revisions to the current guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of unstable angina and non-q-wave myocardial infarction by the International Cardiology Forum (ICF) of 1998

Rapid progress in the understanding and treatment of unstable angina and ac ute coronary syndrome are prompting occasional revisons to current treatmen t guidelines. The recommendations contained in this paper are based on the consensus reached during discussions at the 'International Cardiology Forum ' in September 1998. Consensus was reached on significant major points, alt hough some aspects remain controversial. A substantial body of data accumul ated in a host of studies justify changes to current treatment habits.
