Abstract
The reaction of Cs2S3, Ta and S yields single crystals of the new caesium t
antalum chalcogenide hexacaesium tetratantalum docosasulfide, Cs6Ta4S22, wh
ich is isotypic with Rb6Ta4S22 and the niobium compounds A(6)Nb(4)S(22) (A
= Rb, Cs). The structure consists of discrete [Ta4S22](6-) anions and Cs+ c
ations.
