Abstract
The role of the breakup process of the weakly bounded light projectiles Li- 6,Li-7 and Be-9, on the near barrier fusion reaction and elastic scattering , is investigated by two different approaches. The measurements of the elas tic scattering for the Li-6,Li-7 + Ba-138 and Be-9 + Zn-64 systems were use d to study the threshold anomaly, and the fusion cross sections for the Be- 9 + Zn-64 system were compared with the ones from other similar systems (th e O-16 + Zn-64 and N-14 + Co-59). There are signatures of fusion suppressio n only for the Li-6 + Ba-138 system.
