Abstract
The esophagus of the cat has some distinctive differences, when compar ed with that of the dog. However, these differences as of yet have rar ely been considered. This first part of the paper focusses on Pars cer vicalis esophagi, its specific differences, and discusses possible met hods for surgical interventions.
