We consider the motion of a point particle in right triangular billiar
ds. By considering the global dynamics (when acute angles are not rati
onally connected to pi), or the discrete reduced dynamics (when acute
angles an rational multiples of pi), we find numerical evidence for th
e conjecture that the motion is ergodic and weakly mixing. These dynam
ical features are intimately related to nontrivial scaling properties
of the spectrum of the evolution operator.
