Hl. Yang et al., TUNNEL CRISIS AND THE CRISIS-INDUCED INTERMITTENCY, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 55(6), 1997, pp. 6598-6603
In this paper a different type of crisis in random map is studied. The
trigger of this crisis is the tunnel effect induced by a backward tan
gent bifurcation, while the previously reported crises are all caused
by the collision of the chaotic attractor with an unstable orbit. In s
tudying the intermittency behaviors induced by the crisis, two differe
nt characteristic times an defined. The scaling laws of the characteri
stic times are calculated numerically. Comparing the present crisis wi
th the previously reported cases, the difference between their mechani
sms is shown. Corresponding to this difference, two groups of crises a
re classified.
