Abstract
The 'size effect' of ultrafine platinum particles supported on a carbon mat erial for the electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol has been examined by a model catalyst method. Chronoamperometry revealed that the specific activi ty of the reaction per real surface area of the platinum particles decrease s with a decrease in the platinum particle size.
