P. Sasal et C. Pampoulie, Asymmetry, reproductive success and parasitism of Pomatoschistus microps in a French lagoon, J FISH BIOL, 57(2), 2000, pp. 382-390
There was an(-)allometry between length of nesting male Pomatoschistus micr
ops and the size of the nest. There was also a positive relationship betwee
n parasite load and pectoral fin asymmetry. Then was no marked relationship
between the number of eggs in the nest and parasitism or level of asymmetr
y. These results are discussed in terms of energy allocation and fish repro
ductive success. (C) 2000 The Fisheries Society of the British Isles.
