Abstract
Two linear oligo-TTFs were synthesised employing a stepwise strategy involv ing two different thiolate protecting groups. These linear TTFs were incorp orated into donor-acceptor rotaxanes with the cyclic acceptor, cyclobis(par aquat-p-phenylene). Moreover, a prototype rotaxane based on a bis(pyrrolo)- TTF was prepared and studied.
