Abstract
The ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of dicydopentadiene and c yclooctene with norbornene lactone as a polar comonomer was studied. By inc orporation of this rigid molecule the glass transition temperature was sign ificantly increased. Thermal investigations showed a linear correlation bet ween the amount of norbornene lactone in the copolymer and the observed gla ss transition. Thus, it was possible to vary the T-g within a broad tempera ture range. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
