Abstract
The chloroperoxidase (CPO) from Caldariomyces fumago catalyzed the chlorina tion of didechloroaglucovancomycin and vancomycin in the presence of hydrog en peroxide and chloride ion. Chlorination of didechloroaglucovancomycin ha s afforded new derivatives, with one and two chlorine atoms attached onto t he aromatic ring of residue 7 of didechloroaglucovancomycin. Vancomycin was similarly chlorinated under the same conditions to furnish a new dichloro derivative. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
