Abstract
Four dimolybdenum complexes with bridging thiolato groups, (eta(5)-C5H5)(CO )Mo(mu-SR)(3)Mo(CO)(3) (4; R = Me, Ph, Bn (benzyl), Tol), were formed from Mo(CO)(3)(NCMe)(3) and [C5H4SR](-). The related complex (eta(5)-C5H5)(CO)Mo (mu-SR)(3)Mo(CO)(SR)(2) (5; R = Ph) was obtained when additional [C5H4SR](- ) was used in the reaction. The molecular structures of 4 (R = Bn) and 5 we re determined by X-ray crystallogiaphy. A Mo2Co complex (6) was obtained fr om (eta(5)-C5H(4)(-)Li(+))(CO)(3)MoCo(CO)(4) and Ph2PCl. The structure, det ermined from X-ray diffraction data, reveals some unusual bridging arrangem ents. Crown Copyright (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science S.A. All right s reserved.
