Forced axi-symmetric vibrations of polar orthotropic linearly tapered circu
lar plates are discussed on the basis of classical plate theory. Ritz metho
d has been employed to obtain the solutions. The deflection function and th
e bending moments for forced vibrations of the plate are presented for vari
ous values of taper parameter and rigidity ratio. A comparison of results w
ith those available in literature shows an excellent agreement. (C) 2000 Ac
