Abstract
In this paper we report the synthesis and characterization of 1'-bromo-1,2- methano[60]fullerene. This methanofullerene was synthesized using the react ion of C-60 with bromocarbene. The interest in this derivative is related t o the possibility of its further functionalization via Suzuki coupling as w ell as it being a possible intermediate for the generation of a C-61 unit.
