. Alumina-free mesoporous MCM-41 reveals a far greater polymerisation activ
ity than the analogous carrier containing alumina. The use of MCM-41 as car
rier material at low propene concentration and high polymerisation temperat
ure produces syndiotactic polypropene (sPP) with higher syndiotacticity and
higher melting points than achieved when using a homogenous system or a su
pported system based on spherical SiO2.
