A. Hermanne et al., Study on production of Pd-103 and characterisation of possible contaminants in the proton irradiation of Rh-103 up to 28 Mev, NUCL INST B, 170(3-4), 2000, pp. 281-292
Excitation functions For the proton-induced reactions on Rh-103 of importan
ce in the production of the medically used Pd-103 were studied by the stack
ed foil technique. Several experiments at incident energies between 14.7 an
d 29.4 MeV allowed reliable determination of the cross-sections for Pd-101,
Pd-103, Rh-101m.101g and Rh-102m.102g. Measurements for Pd-103 were done i
n the X-line region as well as for gamma-lines and show 25% difference. The
new experimental values are compared to the available literature values an
d show mostly higher values. Thick target yields were calculated that are i
n good agreement with earlier published values. Practical upper limit of in
cident energy to be used in production runs is derived. (C) 2000 Elsevier S
