Abstract
The use of mid-IR. spectroscopy as a real-time monitoring tool for hydrogen ation reactions is illustrated. This technique was used for both qualitativ e and quantitative purposes to monitor the hydrogenation of three different functional groups. The results show that this technique can be successfull y used as an alternative to traditional off-line methods to monitor the rea ction endpoint and the formation of impurities.
