Abstract
Rodrigo Correa-Oliveira, Iramaya Rodrigues Caldas and Giovanni Gazzinelli h ere focus on the immune response of individuals with natural resistance to schistosomiasis, which differs significantly from that of post-treatment re sistant and infected individuals. They suggest that the activation of T hel per type 1 (Th1) and Th2 cells is needed for the induction of natural resis tance against Schistosoma mansoni infection.
