Abstract
We review the occurrence of periodic or near periodic electric-field domain s stimulated by bound-to-continuum transitions under the influence of infra red radiation in multiple uncoupled quantum wells. The conditions of format ion of such domains and their stability are studied theoretically using the proposed phenomenological model.
