Targets of Ca-48 have been bombarded with Xe-134,Xe-136 beams as part of a
search for long-lived, high-K states in well-deformed nuclei with A approxi
mate to 180. Several known isomers were observed bir off-line gamma-ray det
ection, and limits have been established for high-g isomer production in va
rious isotopes of hafnium (A=175-178), tantalum (A = 177-181), and tungsten
(A = 177-181).
