Ce2Fe17-xMnx compounds with x = 0-2 were synthesized and their magnetizatio
ns were measured on polycrystalline samples at temperatures of 4.2-300 K in
magnetic fields of up to 20 kOe. The binary Ce2Fe17 alloy was established
to exist in low-temperature ferromagnetic and high-temperature helical anti
ferromagnetic ordered states; with substituting manganese for iron, the Nee
l temperature of the Ce2Fe17-xMnx alloys decreases monotonically, whereas t
he temperature of the ferromagnetic-antiferrornagnetic transformation chang
es nonmonotonically and tends to zero for compositions with x = 0.5-1. The
magnetization process in the Ce2Fe17-xMnx alloys with x = 0.5-1 has a metam
agnetic nature.
