Volatile constituents of wood-rotting basidiomycetes

Phytochemical investigation of the hydrodistillation products of the basidi omycetes Fomitopsis pinicola, Piptoporus betulinus, Gloeophyllum odoratum a nd Trametes suaveolens led to the identification of numerous mono- and sesq uiterpenes as well as many aliphatic alcohols, aldehydes and ketones and so me aromatic compounds. In addition, some diterpenes were identified as cons tituents of Fomitopsis pinicola. The absolute configuration of some terpene s was determined. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
