The effect of conditions of the hydrolytic polycondensation of methyltrichlorosilane on the sorption properties of synthesized silicon-containing polymers
Mg. Voronkov et al., The effect of conditions of the hydrolytic polycondensation of methyltrichlorosilane on the sorption properties of synthesized silicon-containing polymers, POLYM SCI A, 42(7), 2000, pp. 774-779
Conditions of the hydrolytic polycondensation of methyltrichlorosilane (sol
vent nature, order of reagent mixing) affect the composition and properties
(specific surface, structure and volume of pores and microglobules, therma
l stability) of the resulting poly(methyl silsesquioxane) and related incom
plete condensation products with the general formula [CH3Si(OH)(n)O1.5-0.5n
](m) (n = 0. 1-0.6). Adsorption capacity of the polymer products was studie
d with respect to phenol, Cd(II) and Pb(II) species, and molecular iodine.
