Abstract
The effect of gamma-irradiation on poly( tetrafluoroethylene-co-hexafluorop ropylene) (FEP) with a composition of approximate to 9:1 has been investiga ted at low doses by Electron Spin Resonance Spectroscopy (ESR). Irradiation s have been carried out at 77 and 300 K and the spectra of the radical inte rmediates have been delineated and the temperature dependencies of the spec tra of the major radicals present have been identified. The overall G-value s for radical formation at 77 and 300 K were found to be 0.22 +/- 0.1 and 2 .0 +/- 0.1, respectively. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserve d.
